Plan for the test shoot

 In order to be able to understand how our music video idea will look like and how it will be for us to film on the day we decided to the test shoot. Where we would try all the small and not only techniques that we are planning, and would like to use during the filming of the music video. 

Talking about the actual plan, because the part of our music video will be filmed in a variety of different locations we have decided to film all those parts in the school area, in order not to waste that much time moving things around. All of the footage will be filmed on both, our phones and the one-framed camera. One of our main targets for the test shoot is to get used to and learn how to use the one-framed camera, due to the fact that none of our production group members have ever filmed using that type of camera. Fort the shots that we would take in the 'tunnel' space we will be using the skateboard in order to be able to film the footage from the floor and in order to make the location seem shorter than the actual height of the band member.  The other reason for us to make the test shoot is to be sure that all of our cast members are reliable and know what to do, and they are ready to be there if we are in need of them, and it will also show how the cast members will work together.

Continuing with what we will need, my group and I have also decided what we will bring to the test shoot. These are things such as the DLSR cannon camera;  instruments; duck tape; phones in order to film on them; a skateboard, as I mentioned earlier; black paper in order to create the blackout parts and we will need the tightened tubes, as they will be visible on the actual music video as we planned. 

Making a group chat.

 Today we have created a group chat in Snapchat with all the band members and the production group members in order to be able to contact the band members and be able to plan when we will meet for the test shoot.

Development of idea.

 Our idea has developed as time went by. After pitching our initial idea our teachers have told me to change the locations. After we have changed the concept of the music video we had to find the locations where we would film some parts of the music video, Neave from our group did the research and visited the places, which suited the song and the style we wanted to represent in the song. Fred from the group was doing the set designs ideas.  Florence from our group is doing the list of the things that members of the band could do in the set locations the Neave has chosen.

 In my group, I am in charge of the lighting on the set and I have to think 

The main point is that each member of our group is doing all the things listed above but there are people who are specifically in charge of one of the things.

Moving on to the targets for our Florence and I have to come up with ideas of what we would line band to do when they are in the rooms and in the locations on the streets. One of the ideas is for the band members to play-fight with each other, the other idea was to film each band member individually where they would show off in front of the camera, and show their attitude towards the music and maybe one people. That would also lead to showing some of the genre and the music conventions. Such as the fact that we want our band to appear rebel but not very to the audience. 

Final decision on the cast

 Today we have made our final decision with the cast members. In order to be sure that these are the right people for our music video, we have made the so-called test shoot to see whether they will look on the cameras good as they did during the auditions and also to be able to be sure about the final decision of the cast members for our future music video. 

Timeline.

 In order to be able to understand the layout of the music video and the way in which it will be filmed my group and I have produced the timeline. Before we had the last, final version of the timeline for the music video we have made a draft of the music video timeline each.

After making one version of the timeline each we met as a group and have created the final piece of the timeline of the music video, which we then will use in order to under what and when to film and how much of the footage for each of the scenes/sets we need.

Advanced lightning workshop.

It is important to know that the house lights(workers) it is important to tell people when you turn them off etc. Red headlight, however, are usually red, they are very bright. May bang but it is not very bad.

Every time you are in the studio you have to be in shoes (health and safety)





In order to diffuse the light, you put the tracing paper on the light. It makes the image softer(shadow softer). 



Fill light, however, is normally used on the other half(it is still the redhead) of the subject. The key light is the main red headlight.



Backlight — is going on the back of the subject, it is lighter and its type is called ‘Blind Light”. Three-point lighting is usually used for interviews, news, etc.

Beauty lighting:

• Blade runner lighting —  bringing ONLY blond lighting round and you get the most from the camera and the lens 



 The MATTE box is used to block out the light that you don’t need 

Flureten lights have the same purpose as any other, although the only difference and disadvantage is the fact that this type of light is not dimmable 



 

Kinoflow and photo flow is a technique of the lighting used for the 'beauty sgots\' and videos. I6t is also very useful for filming music videos.
